Encouraging wildlife in your garden
Many people are keen to encourage wildlife in their gardens, but do not know where to start. The Beds, Cambs and Northants Wildlife Trust have published a handy set of tips covering everything ranging from how to grow a wildlife friendly vegetable garden to how to build a hedgehog home. More than fifty separate topics are covered in the comprehensive guide, including how to attract butterflies, bumblebees and nesting birds.
Many of the tips are for simple activities, such as putting out a bowl of water for wildlife to use or switching to peat-free compost. There are also tips for more ambitious projects, suitable for those undertaking longer term garden design projects.
