Join Ketton Community Litter pick as part of the Big Help Out

Ketton Climate Action has organised regular community litter picks over the past eighteen months, with strong support from volunteers of all ages. As well as improving the appearance of the village and the surrounding areas, the litter picks help to make the countryside safer for wildlife. The volunteers also help with recycling by ensuring that recyclabes in the litter collected are separated from general waste. Over the period that the litter picks have taken place, it has been pleasing to see a reduction in the amount of litter, perhaps reflecting the fact that people are less likely to drop litter where there is none already. The remaining blackspots are on the roadside verges leading out of Ketton, due to litter being thrown out of vehicle windows or accumulating in laybys. During the last community litter pick in March, 22 bags were filled with litter on the A6121 between Ketton and Tinwell.

Ketton Climate Action is arranging its next litter pick on Monday 8 May as part of the Coronation weekend Big Help Out. All are welcome. Meet in the layby at the junction of Steadfold Lane and A6121 Stamford Road at 2pm. Please bring gloves and sturdy shoes. All other equipment will be provided. We will finish around 3:30pm.
