Ketton Green Festival to return in June
Ketton’s Green Festival will return on Sunday 11 June, as part of the Great Big Green Week. After the success of the inaugural Green Festival last year, it was quickly decided to repeat the event this year, with the aim of making the 2023 Festival bigger and better than the 2022 version. The Green Festival will take place at Hall Close in Ketton from 2pm to 4pm, with activities for all ages.
The Festival will have a “watery theme.” There will be river-based activities (river dipping for invertebrates and testing samples for phosphates / nitrates), plus land-based activities related to water conservation and pollution. There will also be activities and information on other matters relating to fighting climate change and protecting nature (e.g. gardening, composting, recycling, and electric vehicles). There will be experts in the field of home renewable energy solutions in attendance, to provide information a range of options including solar panels, heat pumps and EV charging points.
Anyone interested in organising an activity or helping out on the day should email the Ketton Climate Action Group via: kettonpc@btinternet.com.
Please note that there will be very limited car parking available. Visitors are encouraged to walk or cycle to the Festival. Anyone coming by car is asked to respect the needs of local residents.
The Great Big Green Week is the UK’s biggest celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature. This year the Great Big Green Week runs from 10 to 18 June. For more information visit: https://greatbiggreenweek.com.
