Ketton Tree Planting – National Tree Week 2023
As part of National Tree Week, Ketton Green Spaces Group are organising tree planting on Sunday 3 December. Meet in the car park at Ketton Sports and Community Centre (KSCC) on Pit Lane at 2pm. The tree planting will take place in the copse by the sports field.
Later in the afternoon, the tree planting activity will continue on Hall Close in the centre of Ketton, where the Green Spaces Group plan to add a few holly and hazel trees in the central copse in Hall Close.
All are welcome. Please bring spades and come with gloves and warm clothes. Hot drinks and cakes will be provided.
National Tree Week runs from 25 November to 3 December and is the UK’s largest annual tree celebration. Each year, the country’s conservation sector, volunteer groups and tree-lovers come together to plant thousands of trees to mark the start of the tree planting season. Over the county boundary in South Lincs, the team at Lower Braceborough Wood are aiming to plant 2,000 trees over the weekend of 2 and 3 December.
