THE QUEEN’S BIG GREEN CANOPY

THE QUEEN’S GREEN CANOPY ACTION ON CLIMATE CHANGE

The Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) is a tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022 which invites everyone across the UK to plant trees. Following the death of Her Majesty the Queen, and the wishes of His Majesty the King, the initiative will be extended to the end of March 2023 to give people the opportunity to plant trees in memoriam to honour The Queen. links The Queen’s Green Canopy (queensgreencanopy.org) , UK’s Largest Woodland Conservation Charity – Woodland Trust and The Queen’s Green Canopy – The Lord-Lieutenant of Rutland (rutlandlordlieutenant.org)

Did you know TCV has pledged to plant 5 million trees for people and green spaces by 2025?

We have our popular FREE trees programmes I Dig TreesTrees for London and From the Ground Up (with free fruit trees for primary schools), all geared towards helping us achieve this ambitious target. We also have seed-collecting projects and the TCV Tree Nursery in Cultra, where we are growing native trees from local seeds to enhance the biodiversity of Northern Ireland.

This is just one of our pledges from our refreshed strategy For people and green spaces: a thriving network for everyone, which reflects on how we will target TCV’s work to connect people and green spaces to provide multiple benefits and address many of the most pressing issues facing society.
